To allow the next phase of your life to begin. The ending of one thing is the beginning of another. If you want big things to happen in your life, you have to become comfortable with being uncomfortable from time to time.Īs I began writing this post, the lyrics from Closing Time by Semisonic immediately hit me: “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” But I’ve also learned that if you want big things to happen in your life, you have to become comfortable with being uncomfortable from time to time. I love big changes (usually in the form of moving to new cities.) I’ve learned how to not fear change, and instead, how to embrace it and make the most of it. Through my own personal development, I have learned that I am a seeker of change. You just have to allow yourself to experience it. There is literally SO much out there that is waiting for you. To inspire you to turn your focus toward all the events you’ve yet to experience instead of dwelling on what is ending or already has ended. Often we get so stuck on the ending of one relationship, job, life event that we turn our eyes and focus and hearts away from what is coming next. When something ends, there truly is something better waiting for us, even if we can’t see it at the time.Īll phases of our life are lessons. As we go through them, we change, grow, evolve. The same thing can be said for a job that you lost, friendship that ended, dream that got crushed, etc. (Looking back, we can be so melodramatic, huh?) Your life didn’t end with that heart break. You’re living, thriving, and have probably developed other relationships of various sorts since then. Remember the feeling of not wanting to get out of bed in the morning, feeling as though you’d never be able to love again? And then come back to present day. Think about that one break-up that broke your heart in a way you thought you’d never survive. Look back on previous years of your life. We can look back on all the events of our life and see the endings followed by new beginnings, over and over, year after year. The beautiful flow of life events that occur (even if they don’t seem so beautiful at the moment.) It’s a cycle. So, here I am now thinking about endings and beginnings. The New Moon is a time for new beginnings. As always, we started talking a bit about astrology and the recent New Moon. She and I literally talk about everything under the Sun. The other day, I was having a two-hour long Skype chat with my dear friend Ashley. You know those moments in time, those phases of life we go through when things are shifting, changing, churning right below our feet? It’s almost as though you can feel the earth start to move from under you.
